Dee Carter began performing while in High School in Monahans, Texas. He formed a band, "The Rebels," which performed throughout the West Texas area. In college, he continued his entertaining with several singing groups. Upon graduation, Dee entertained primarily for private parties, doing his impersonations of Elvis, Buddy Holly, Bobby Darin and other rock stars of the 50's and 60's. He moved to California and was a regular performer with the group "Silvercreek," playing at Hag's Place in North Hollywood for two years. He was a vocalist working with Jack Daniels, who is currently a part of Highway 101.

Upon returning to his native West Texas, Dee set his music career aside for several years, concentrating on building a successful career in the insurance and financial planning field. He was called upon often to entertain for private parties and added some country stars to his repertoire, notably Kenny Rogers and Merle Haggard, but his first love was Elvis. Four years ago, he returned to his "roots" and began performing exclusively as the King, appearing in San Antonio, Abilene, Boerne, Monahans, Midland, San Angelo, Corpus Christi, Lubbock, Cameron, Austin and Odessa, Texas. Dee has performed for High School reunions all over Texas as well as presenting many one-man shows for various groups. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ector Theatre of Odessa, Texas, where he performed to a sold-out house on January 8, 2004, presenting "Elvis' Birthday Party" to a very appreciative audience. In addition to this performance, he has been on the card with Johnny D and the Rocket 88's, opening for them in a benefit performance. He has his own production company, DeeCee Productions and is also represented by Wemus Entertainment with offices in Nashville, Dallas and Midland. He is a member of the Professional Elvis Impersonators Association of Las Vegas, Nevada.
